BSA Bolt, battery carrier (5/16" British Standard Cycle × 1 7/16")
A 5/16 inch BSC bolt, 1 7/16 inches long, used to mount the battery carrier to the frame.
This is the bolt that holds the battery carrier to the frame, listed in the catalog as 5/16 inch British Standard Cycle thread by 1 7/16 inch long. It shows up in the FRAME section of the parts books and is a small piece of hardware, but it's the kind of thing that's easy to lose track of when a battery tray gets pulled for cleaning or a rewire.

The catalog puts this bolt in appearances spanning 1969 to 1970, so it's tied to that era of frame and battery carrier setup. If your bike falls outside that window, check the fit before ordering since carrier mounting can change from one year to the next.
It's a straightforward BSC bolt - nothing exotic, just the right length and thread to seat the carrier properly against the frame lug. Worth having a spare on hand since it's the sort of small fastener that walks off during a teardown.
