BSA Stud, cylinder head (1/4" B.S.C./B.S.F. × 2-7/16")
Cylinder head stud, 1/4 in. B.S.C./B.S.F. thread, 2-7/16 in. long.
This is a cylinder head stud, 1/4 inch B.S.C./B.S.F. thread by 2-7/16 inches long. It's one of the studs that hold the cylinder head down to the barrel, so it lives right in the top end of the motor along with the other head fasteners. The catalog places it in the cylinder and crankshaft section, and it shows up under the shorter alias 40-939 as well.

The manufacturer tag on this one says BSA, but the description doesn't name a bike or model, so take that with a grain of salt. If you're matching studs on a rebuild, check the length and thread against what's already in the head before you order a full set.
Our record on this one is thin - just the one catalog listing - so if you need to confirm it fits your particular engine, give us a call before you order.
