BSA Big-end shell (—.030")
A .030-undersize big-end bearing shell for the crankshaft/connecting rod big-end journal.
This is a big-end shell listed at .030 undersize, which tells you it's a bearing shell ground to fit a crankshaft journal that's been reground .030 under standard. It shows up in the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT section of the parts book, so it's part of the rotating assembly down at the bottom of the engine where the connecting rod meets the crankpin.

The catalog only shows this one appearance, so we don't have a broad model spread to point to. If you're rebuilding a bottom end and your crank has already been reground .030 under, this is the size shell you'd be looking for, but confirm the journal size on your actual crank before ordering.
The old alias 40-919 is just the same part number without the leading zero, so if you find it written that way in an older book, it's the same shell.
