This is the blanking plug that threads into the choke cable hole on the top of an Amal carburetor when you're not running a choke cable. If you've fitted a new Amal top and you don't need the choke feature, this plug seals that hole so you don't have an open threaded port sitting there.

It's listed in our records as replacing 4/137A, which is the same physical plug under an earlier or alternate number. If your carb has a threaded hole up top with no choke lever hooked to it, this is the part that closes it off properly instead of leaving it open or jury-rigged with whatever's in the parts drawer.
