SPOKE,INNER-RT&LT

Inner rear wheel spoke, fits either right or left side of the hub, used across rear wheel builds with either Smiths or Veglia speedo drive boxes.

PN · 37-7031

This is an inner spoke for the rear wheel, listed for both the right and left side of the hub. It shows up in the parts book across several rear wheel figures, including the versions built around the Smiths speedo drive box on the right side and the Veglia speedo drive box on the left side, so the wheel lacing has to account for whichever drive box setup is fitted.

Inner spokes run from the hub to the inner row of holes in the rim, and they take a different pull angle than the outer spokes, which is why the parts book breaks them out separately by position. If you're rebuilding a rear wheel, get the count and mix of inner and outer spokes right before you start lacing, since a wheel built with the wrong combination won't true up properly.

The catalog entries for this spoke run from 1978 into the mid-1980s. If you're working off an older or newer parts book and the number doesn't match what you've got, give us a call and we can sort out the right spoke for your hub and rim combination.
