Balance weight - short
A short wheel balance weight used on Triumph front and rear wheel assemblies, PN 37-3969.
This is a wheel balance weight, the short version, listed under Triumph part number 37-3969 (also seen under the older W3969 form). It shows up across front and rear wheel figures in the parts books, including rear wheel setups noted for use with the Smiths speedo drive box on the right-hand side and the Veglia speedo drive box on the left-hand side.

A balance weight like this clips or bolts onto the wheel rim to offset a heavy spot, usually opposite the tire valve or a heavier section of the rim and spokes, keeping the wheel spinning true instead of hopping or vibrating at speed. The catalog spans a long run of years, so this is a part that stuck around in Triumph's wheel building process for a good while.
If you're rebalancing a wheel and need to know how many weights or what the total offset should be, that's going to depend on your specific wheel and tire combination rather than anything fixed in the catalog listing itself. Give us a call if you want help sorting out which weights and how many you need.
