The 37-1015 rear adjuster plate is a small but important piece of hardware at the rear wheel axle, used to set and hold chain tension. It sits at the end of the swinging arm slot where the wheel spindle passes through, giving the axle nut something solid and even to bear against as you slide the wheel fore and aft to adjust chain slack. Older parts books list this same piece under the W1015 form, which is the number you may find if you are working from an earlier edition catalog.

This plate shows up across a long run of rear wheel and quickly-detachable rear wheel figures in the parts books, spanning from the mid-'50s into the early '70s across a wide range of Triumph twins. Because the plate is simple and takes direct wear and load every time the wheel is pulled for tire changes or chain adjustment, it is common to find the originals scored, bent, or rusted through on an old bike.

We sell these individually, so check how many your bike uses at the axle before ordering. If you are restoring a wheel end and everything else back there looks tired, this is a cheap thing to just replace outright rather than fuss over reusing the old one.
