OriginalStainless

This is the pivot pin for the rear brake rod, part of the rear drum brake linkage on the wheels end of the bike. The rod that runs from the brake pedal back to the brake operating arm needs a pivot point where the adjuster and rod connect, and this pin is what that joint turns on.

It shows up in the rear wheel section of the parts book, tied to the rear brake rod and adjuster setup rather than anything up front. Catalog records we have on file place it in a 1973 listing, though this is a small, simple pin of a type that tends to carry across many years of Triumph drum-brake rear ends.

It is a cheap part to overlook and an easy one to lose track of once it wears oval or the rod starts rattling. If you are already in there servicing the rear brake linkage, worth having one on hand.
