This is a 2 inch ammeter with a black face, the gauge that shows charge and discharge on the electrical system. It reads amps going into or out of the battery, so a glance tells you whether the generator or alternator is keeping up with what the lights and ignition are pulling.

The old book number for this one is AM004, so if you're working from an older parts list and see that code, it's the same gauge.
