A Woodruff key, small locking key for mating a shaft to a gear or sprocket.
This is a Woodruff key, part number 27-1386, also listed under AA003 in older references. A Woodruff key is a small半-moon shaped piece of steel that seats in a matching slot on a shaft and locks a gear, sprocket, or pulley to that shaft so it can't spin independently.
