DYNO BRUSH PLATE NOS
A Lucas dynamo brush plate, part number 200738, that holds the carbon brushes against the commutator.
This is a brush plate for a Lucas dynamo, part number 200738. It's the component inside the generator end that holds the carbon brushes against the commutator so current gets picked up as the armature spins. Without a sound brush plate the dynamo won't charge properly, and worn or cracked plates are a common reason for a no-charge complaint that isn't the armature or field coil.

Our records tag this one to the E3L and E3LM Lucas dynamo models, but we don't have a lot of appearance history on it in our own catalog. If you're chasing a charging fault or rebuilding a dynamo, check the plate for cracking, scoring on the brush tracks, and make sure the brush springs still have tension before you put it back together.
Give us a call if you want us to confirm this matches the dynamo you've got apart on the bench before you order.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
