BSA Ammeter, headlamp
An ammeter for the headlamp electrical circuit, listed in the 1970 electrical equipment records.
This is an ammeter listed for the headlamp electrical setup, 19-0963. An ammeter reads charge and discharge current from the generator or alternator circuit, so the rider can see at a glance whether the electrical system is putting current into the battery or pulling it out. On these older British bikes the ammeter is often mounted in or near the headlamp shell where the rider can see it while riding.
