Split pin
A 1/16" x 3/8" split pin used as retaining hardware in rear suspension and cable/handlebar fittings.
This is a split pin, the size given as 1/16" x 3/8", used in a couple of different spots on the bike according to our records. It turns up in the swinging fork and rear suspension unit assembly, and also alongside the control cables and handlebar fittings. Split pins like this one are simple retaining hardware - they pass through a drilled clevis pin or similar and get their legs bent over to keep a fastener from backing out or a linkage pin from walking out of place.

The catalog entries we have span 1960 to 1962 across three appearances, but that's the span of the records, not a specific model fitment - the actual bike this was fitted to isn't spelled out beyond the figure titles listed. If you're chasing a split pin for a rear suspension pivot or a cable adjuster clevis, this size is a reasonable place to start, but check what you're pulling off before you order to make sure the sizing matches.
Split pins are cheap enough that most people keep a small assortment on the shelf rather than order one at a time - worth having a few on hand for jobs like this.
