Norton Nut, Camshaft Sprocket
Camshaft sprocket retaining nut for the Norton Commando engine timing gear, PN 06-7774.
This is the nut that secures the camshaft sprocket on Norton Commando engines. It lives down in the timing gear area, on the same shaft as the sprocket that drives the camshaft off the crankshaft's timing chain. Without it torqued down correctly the sprocket has nothing holding it in place on the shaft.

Our catalog record shows this one part number, 06-7774, tied to the crankshaft/camshaft/timing gear section of the engine. We only see it appearing once in our data, and the only year tied to that appearance is 1975, so we can't speak to earlier or later Commando years from what's in front of us.
If you're rebuilding the timing chest, replace this nut rather than reusing an old one that's been through several torque cycles. Beyond that, we don't have more detail on this one - give us a call if you need to confirm it matches what's on your bike before you order.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
