Norton Nut, Relief Valve

This is the nut that caps off the oil pressure relief valve on the engine, part of the group that includes the contact breaker, timing cover, and oil pump assembly. The relief valve keeps oil pressure within bounds by bleeding off excess pressure once it builds past a set point, and this nut is what holds that valve assembly closed against the timing cover or crankcase.
