Carburetter body
Amal carburetor body casting, the main housing that the slide, jets, and float bowl fit into.
This is a carburetor body, the main casting that everything else on the carb bolts to or slides into - float bowl, slide, jets, the works. It's an Amal part, which is what you'd expect since Amal supplied the carburetors on these bikes through this era. Our catalog record for R.928/005 comes from a single carburetor figure with a 1971 date on it, so that's what we can confirm.

The body is the part that actually mounts to the manifold or intake stub, so it's worth checking your existing body for wear at the slide bore and float bowl mating surface before you swap in a replacement - a lot of tuning trouble on old Amals traces back to a worn body rather than the jets or needle.
