STANCHION,BSA SHUTTLE VALVE
A BSA shuttle valve front fork stanchion tube, PN 97-3906.
This is a fork stanchion tube built for the shuttle valve type front fork, as noted right in the part's own catalog description, which ties it to BSA. The listing calls it out specifically as the BSA shuttle valve stanchion, so this is a BSA fork tube rather than a standard Triumph one, even though it sits in our Triumph-tagged records.

A stanchion is the chrome tube that slides inside the fork's lower legs, carrying the damping mechanism and taking the brunt of road shock. On shuttle valve forks the damping works differently than the later oil-damped units, and the stanchion has to be matched to that internal valve setup, so it isn't a drop-in swap with other fork tube types.
Our catalog shows this part appearing across a narrow year window, and it's listed under the BSA shuttle valve fork figure. If you're sorting out which fork tube your bike takes, bring in the numbers off your existing stanchion or check your parts book before ordering — shuttle valve forks aren't interchangeable with the later damper-rod type.
