This is a front lower stay backing piece for the fender on US-spec Triumphs, found in the MUDGUARDS (FENDERS U.S.A.) section of the parts book. It works with the front mudguard's lower stay mounting, giving the stay a solid backing point where it attaches to the fender itself.
