PETROL TAP NUT 1/4X19BSPP
Thin jam nut that locks the petrol tap into position on the gas tank, 1/4 x 19 BSPP thread.
This is the thin locking nut, sometimes called a jam nut, that holds the petrol tap in place once you've got it threaded into the tank at the right position. It's a 1/4 x 19 BSPP fitting, and being a thin nut it doesn't eat up thread length on the tap, leaving enough engagement for the tap to seat properly in the tank boss. Older parts books list this one under F10006, same part.

You'll find it referenced across gas tank figures through the late '60s and into the early '70s. It's a small, easy-to-overlook item, but if it's stripped, rounded off, or missing, your petrol tap won't stay put and you'll be fighting a leak or a tap that rotates on you.
Worth keeping a spare on hand since it's the kind of small hardware that walks off or gets buggered up with a pair of pliers when someone's in a hurry.
