CAP SWING ARM SEAL HOUSING
The seal housing cap that fits over the swing arm pivot tube ends to keep grease in and dirt out.
This is the seal housing cap for the swinging arm on Triumph rear suspension, part number 82-7848, also listed under the older F7848 designation. It shows up in the parts book under the swinging fork and suspension units section, which is where you'd expect it since its whole job is keeping the pivot area clean.

The cap fits over the end of the swing arm tube where it meets the frame, working alongside the seal and bush to keep grease in and road grime out of the pivot bushing. It also acts as a spacer so the swing arm sits correctly on the frame mounting. If yours is cracked, distorted, or missing, dirt and water will find their way into the pivot bushing a lot faster than they should.
Our catalog record spans appearances from 1968 through 1974, so this cap turns up across a number of years in the swinging arm and suspension figures. Check what's actually on your bike before ordering since swing arm hardware changed over the years covered.
