Cap

Cap for the oil pressure release valve on the Triumph unit-construction engine's oil pump assembly.

PN · 70-6596

This is the cap that closes off the oil pressure release valve assembly on the Triumph unit-construction engine, part number 70-6596, also listed as E6596 in older references. It shows up across the oil pump and release valve figures in the parts books, as well as the crankcase and inner primary cover drawings, which tells you it sits right where the release valve lives in the oil pump circuit.

The release valve regulates oil pressure in the lubrication system, and this cap retains the valve and its spring in the housing. It's a small part but it has to seal properly, since it's holding back pressurized oil at that end of the pump assembly.

Catalog appearances run from 1969 into 1978, spanning a number of different pump and crankcase drawings, so this cap was used across a long production run. If you're not sure whether the one you're looking at matches your engine's oil pump setup, bring it to the counter or give us a call before you order.
