Exhaust pipe guard
Chrome exhaust pipe heat shield for high-level pipe setups on the TR6C and T100C, later revised to part 70-4204A.
70-4204 is the exhaust pipe guard, also called a heat shield, that Triumph fitted to the high-level exhaust systems on the TR6C and T100C. It clamps around the header pipe to keep the rider's leg away from bare hot metal on machines set up with the up-swept competition-style pipes.

On the parts books it shows up under the exhaust and undershield figures for those models, alongside the muffler and footpeg listings, which tells you it's a piece of the exhaust assembly rather than a frame or bodywork part. It carries the older E4204 number in earlier books, and Triumph later revised it to 70-4204A, so if you're chasing this shield with a different suffix on your parts diagram, that's likely the same physical piece under its updated number.
Call it a heat shield if that's easier to search by — same part, same job, just a more common name for it today.
