This is the throttle slide for the Amal Concentric Mk1 600 series carburetor, cut with a 2.5 cutaway. The slide rides up and down in the carb body and is what the throttle cable pulls open and closed - the cutaway number stamped into it governs how the engine pulls off idle and through the lower half of the throttle, so it's not just a generic replacement part, it has to match what the carb was set up with.

Ours is the OEM zinc piece, made to the original Amal spec rather than an aftermarket copy. If you're rebuilding a 600 Mk1 carb or chasing a flat spot low in the rev range, checking the cutaway number on your old slide before ordering is worth doing, since swapping to a different cutaway changes the way the bike responds off idle.
