Ammeter type 2AR 36421
Type 2AR ammeter (60-1992) for the headlamp binnacle, shows charge/discharge status on the electrical system.
This is the ammeter that lives in the headlamp binnacle, type 2AR, catalog number 60-1992 (also shown in older parts books as D1992). It's the little gauge that tells you whether the electrical system is charging or discharging - a needle swinging to the plus or minus side of center rather than a modern fuel-gauge-style readout.

It appears in the parts book alongside the handlebar, binnacle, control levers, and oil warning light listings, so it mounts up in the instrument cluster area on the top of the bike where the rider can see it while riding. Our records show it cataloged across the 1969-1970 span.
If you're chasing an intermittent charging problem, the ammeter itself is worth checking along with the wiring behind it, but confirm you've got the same binnacle style before ordering since fitment on these instrument panels can vary year to year.
