Clutch lever
The clutch operating lever inside the gearbox outer cover that transmits clutch cable pull to the clutch mechanism.
This is the clutch operating lever that lives inside the gearbox outer cover. It's the piece that actually pushes on the clutch mechanism when you pull the clutch handle at the bar - the cable does its job at the handlebar end, and this lever converts that pull into the motion that disengages the clutch at the gearbox.

In the parts books it shows up under the GEARBOX OUTER COVER figure, and our records have it appearing across catalog listings from 1974 to 1978. It was later given a new factory number, 57-7035, so if you're working from an older parts book or a newer one you may see either number for the same physical lever.
If you're pulling your outer cover apart for a clutch adjustment or a rebuild, this is a good one to look over for wear at the pivot and contact points, since it takes the brunt of the mechanical action every time the clutch is worked.
