OIL SEAL TRIUMPH 650/750 KICKSHAFT - X RING (O-RING)
Kickstart shaft oil seal (X-ring/O-ring style) for Triumph 650/750 gearboxes, PN 57-1956.
This is the oil seal that lives on the kickstart shaft where it comes through the gearbox outer cover, fitted to Triumph 650 and 750 twins. Ed's catalog carries it as the X-ring (O-ring) style seal, part number 57-1956, and it's shown up in the gearbox outer cover and inner cover/selector figures across a long production span according to our records.

The job of this seal is simple: keep gearbox oil in the case and out of everything downstream of the kickstart lever. Over time these seals harden and shrink, and that's usually when you start seeing oil weeping around the kickstart shaft. It's a small part, but a leaky one here can make a mess of a clean-looking gearbox cover.
This part number was later carried forward as 57-1956T, and it's also cataloged under 19-90173 and the older T1956 style number, so if you're cross-checking against an old parts book or a different catalog listing, those are the same physical seal.
