Kickstarter crank
Kickstarter crank arm that mounts on the gearbox outer cover and operates the kickstart lever.
The 57-1678 is the kickstarter crank, the arm that carries the kickstart lever and pedal down through the gearbox outer cover so you can swing the engine over by hand. It lives right on the outside of the gearbox, splined to the kickstart shaft underneath the outer cover, and it's the piece that takes all the direct load every time you kick the bike over.

In our records this one shows up under the older T1678 designation as well, which is the pre-renumbering form of the same part. It's listed in the parts book alongside the rest of the gearbox outer cover and lever hardware, so if you're pulling that cover for gasket or bearing work this is a good time to look the crank over for wear at the pedal boss and the splines.
Our catalog listing for this one is thin - it only turns up in a single year's parts book entry - so if you're matching it to a specific gearbox casing or lever assembly, give us a call and we'll go over the details before you order.
