High gear bush
Gearbox high gear bush that supports the high gear on the mainshaft, also listed as T1405.
The 57-1405 high gear bush lives inside the gearbox, where it supports the high gear on the mainshaft. It shows up in the parts book under both the gearbox shafts/bearings/inner cover figure and the gearbox outer cover figure, which tells you it's a shaft-support bushing rather than a bolt-on cover piece. The older book listing for this same part is T1405, so if you're working from a pre-1970s parts list, that's the number to cross off against.

This bush takes wear from the gear spinning against it day in and day out, and it's a common culprit when a gearbox starts to feel sloppy on that shaft or when the high gear develops play it shouldn't have. Given how long this number stayed in the parts books, it turns up across a wide span of gearbox rebuilds, but we'd rather you check your own parts diagram than guess off a year alone.
If you're in there doing a rebuild, it's worth inspecting this bush any time the mainshaft comes apart, since it's a wear item that's easy to overlook until the gearbox starts running loose.
