STUD INLET MANIFOLD TO CARB 1968-82 - SINGLE CARB STEPPED
Stepped stud that secures the single-carb inlet manifold to the cylinder head on unit-construction Triumph twins.
This is the stud that holds the inlet manifold to the cylinder head on single-carb unit twins, threading into the head on one end and taking the manifold and its retaining nut on the other. It's a stepped or shouldered design, meaning the two ends aren't the same diameter, so it locates the manifold properly against the head face rather than just pinching it down flat.

Catalog listings for this stud run from 1968 to 1982 for single-carb setups, and it shows up in our records under the figure covering the oil pump, release valve, manifold, and tappets. The older stock number for this same part is S1996, if that's what's printed in your parts book.
These studs corrode and get sloppy in the threads over the years, especially where they thread into the head, so if you're pulling a manifold for gasket work it's worth checking the condition of the studs while you're in there rather than fighting with tired ones on reassembly.
