TWISTGRIP (99-0248)
The Amal twistgrip throttle control that mounts on the handlebar to operate the carburetor via cable.
This is the twistgrip assembly, the throttle control that lives on the handlebar and gets turned to open and close the carburetor slide via the throttle cable. In the shop's records it also shows up as 99-0248, which is the same physical piece under its other catalog number.

It's an Amal-made control unit, and it turns up across a wide run of handlebar and control-lever figures in the parts books, spanning 1967 through 1974. That kind of spread tells you it's a common wear item on these bikes rather than something unique to one model, but the exact machine and year it goes on isn't something we can pin down from the catalog data alone.
If you're replacing one, bring in your old unit or your bars so we can match up the mounting and cable pull before you order. Handlebar control parts can look similar across model years but not always interchange cleanly.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
