This is a pilot jet for the Amal Mk1 and Mk2 carburetors. The pilot jet controls fuel delivery at idle and low throttle openings, screwing into the carb body to meter the small amount of fuel the engine needs when you're sitting at a stoplight or easing along at low revs.
