Spring washer
A split spring washer used under nuts and bolts throughout the frame, engine fittings, and accessory mounts; later renumbered 60-4259.
S26-1 is a spring washer, the split-ring type used under nuts and bolts all over the bike to keep them from working loose under vibration. It shows up across an unusually wide range of assemblies in the catalog, from frame and swinging fork fittings to footrests, exhaust mounting, toolkit brackets, and even coil and rectifier mounting hardware — it's a general-purpose fastener rather than something tied to one job or one part of the machine.

Given how many different figures call for this washer, don't assume the one you're replacing is the only place it's used. If you're rebuilding a section of the bike and pull one of these off a bolt, it's worth having a few spares on hand since the same washer likely turns up again elsewhere in the same job.
The factory later renumbered this part to 60-4259, so if your parts book or an older invoice shows S26-1, that's the same washer under its current number. Either number should get you the right part.
