STEERING DAMPER WING NUT
A hand-adjustable wing nut for a steering damper assembly, used to tighten or loosen steering friction at the headstock.
This is a steering damper wing nut, the knurled/winged fastener that sits on top of the steering damper assembly and lets a rider tighten or loosen the friction damper by hand, no tools needed. Turning it down clamps the damper plates against the steering stem to add resistance at the headstock; backing it off frees up the steering again.
