This is the mixing chamber top for an Amal carburetor, catalog number 928/098. It's the cap assembly that sits on top of the carburetor body and houses the top end of the throttle slide and needle, with the cable coming down through it to work the slide inside the mixing chamber.

The catalog ties this one to the T140V carburetor figure, so it's a part that shows up on the unit-construction Triumph twins using that Amal carb setup in the mid-1970s. If you're chasing a worn or cracked top for a rebuild or to stop a slide from rattling around, this is the piece that caps off the top of the carb body.
