Needle for float
Float needle for the Amal carburetor, the tapered valve that shuts off fuel flow when the float bowl reaches its level.
This is the float needle for the Amal carburetor, the small tapered valve that sits in the float bowl and shuts off the fuel supply once the float rises to the correct level. It's a wear item — the tip seats against the float valve seat thousands of times, and once it wears or picks up grit it stops sealing properly, which is what causes fuel to keep dribbling into the carb and out the overflow or the intake.

This one shows up in the parts books under both numbers, 99-0511 and 622/068, and it's listed against the T140V carburetor figures as well as the throttle linkage side of the carburettor breakdown. If your bike is flooding at idle or leaking fuel from the float chamber, this is one of the first things worth pulling and checking along with the float itself and the seat it rides on.
We carry it as a service part — it's cheap insurance to keep on hand if you're doing carb work, since a sticking or worn float needle is one of the more common causes of a Triumph flooding on choke or after sitting.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
