Heat sink bracket
Heat sink mounting bracket for the zener diode/rectifier setup, PN 97-4262, supersedes 97-2236 and 97-2365.
This is the heat sink bracket, part number 97-4262, from the electrical side of the bike. It shows up in the parts book under the ignition coils, horn, and rectifier and zener diode figure, which tells you where it lives - mounted in with the electrical components that need a place to shed heat, most notably the zener diode used for voltage control on these bikes.

The zener diode gets warm doing its job, and this bracket is what it's bolted to so that heat has somewhere to go besides the diode itself. It's a simple mounting piece rather than anything electrical in its own right, but if it's cracked, bent, or missing, the diode it's meant to support won't be seated the way it should be.
This number replaces two earlier factory numbers, 97-2236 and then 97-2365, so if your parts book or an old invoice lists either of those, you're looking at the same physical bracket under an older designation. Catalog listings tie this one to 1974, so double check it against your own bike before ordering.
