Steering stem nut (without steering damper)
Top steering stem nut for the oil-in-frame front fork, 16 TPI coarse thread, without steering damper - also known by its earlier number H4029.
This is the top nut that secures the steering stem on the oil-in-frame front fork assembly, the version made for forks without a steering damper fitted. It threads onto the top of the steering stem above the top yoke and clamps everything together so the fork can pivot cleanly in the frame's steering head.

Our catalog data ties this one to the 1971 model year on the telescopic front fork setup, and the older H4029 stamping is the same physical part under its earlier part number. This was the coarser 16 TPI thread used on the initial oil-in-frame conical hub models before Triumph and BSA moved to a finer thread the following model year, so it's worth checking what's actually on your stem before ordering rather than going by year alone.
If your bike has a steering damper fitted at the top yoke, you'll want a different nut - this one is specifically the no-damper version.
