Front fender (stainless steel)
Stainless steel front fender, catalog PN 97-3884 (formerly 97-1996), also listed as H3884 or JRC 10-500E.
This is the front fender for the front end of the bike, made in stainless steel. Our catalog carries it under 97-3884, and it goes by H3884 or JRC 10-500E in some parts books and supplier listings — all the same physical part.

Stainless was the factory's answer to chrome fenders rusting through, and it holds up a lot better over the years without needing replating. This one shows up in the FENDERS section of the parts book, tied to catalog appearances from 1970.
This PN supersedes an earlier factory number, 97-1996, so if your parts book or an old invoice lists that number, it's the same fender under an older designation. Check your mounting stays and bracket hardware against what you're pulling off, since fender shape and stay positions varied across the lineup.
