DAMPER ROD 64-67 C MODEL
Front fork damper rod for C-model and TT Triumphs, 1966-1967, also listed as H1897.
The 97-1897 is a damper rod out of the front fork assembly, used across the C-model and TT machines Triumph built for the US market in the mid-60s. It's the internal rod that works inside the fork leg to control oil flow and take some of the harshness out of the fork's travel. Without it, or with a worn one, the front end tends to feel loose and uncontrolled over bumps.

This part shows up in the fork figures for the eastern US T100C, the T100C and T100R, and the TR6C and T120TT, all landing in the 1966-1967 catalog window. If your parts book lists it under the older H1897 designation, that's the same physical rod under its earlier number.
We don't have extended notes on this one beyond what's in the fork diagrams, so if you're not sure your bike's fork internals match up with these figures, give us a call before you order.
