Swinging Arm
Rear swinging arm for the 1976-1979 era Triumph twins, pivots at the frame and carries the rear wheel and suspension units.
This is the rear swinging arm, the fork-shaped assembly that pivots at the frame and carries the rear wheel, mounting the rear suspension units at its trailing ends. It's the part that lets the back end of the bike move up and down over bumps while the drive chain stays in line with the gearbox sprocket.

Our catalog record shows this one appearing across figures titled Swinging Arm and Suspension Units, with entries spanning 1976 through 1979. That points to the later OIF-frame twins of that era, though we'd rather you confirm the fitment against your own frame and parts book before ordering rather than take a year range as gospel.
If you're replacing this piece, check your pivot bushings and spindle while it's out, since that's the usual reason a swinging arm gets pulled in the first place.
