Rear motor plate right

Right-hand rear motor plate that bolts the engine/gearbox to the frame on later Triumph twins.

PN · 83-7011

This is the right-hand rear motor plate, part number 83-7011. It's one of the pair of plates that bolt to the frame at the back of the engine/gearbox assembly and carry the lower engine mounting through-bolts. On these later OIF-era frames the motor plates do double duty, tying the engine into the frame and giving the footrest and brake pedal mounts something solid to hang off of, per the parts-book figure covering motor unit fittings and footrests.

The catalog shows this plate appearing across rows spanning 1976 to 1983, so it was in production use for a good stretch of the later Triumph twin-cylinder run. It's specifically the right-hand side plate — the left side is a separate part number, so make sure you're ordering the correct side for your frame.

When you're pulling the engine or doing frame work, check these plates for cracking or elongated bolt holes before you put everything back together. A tired motor plate can let the engine shift slightly in the frame, which shows up as odd vibration or drivetrain misalignment down the line.
