GRAB RAIL,69 500/650
Chrome grab rail/lifting handle for the 1969 Triumph 500 and 650 twinseat, PN 82-9498.
This is the grab rail off the back of the twinseat on 1969 500 and 650 twins - the chrome handle a passenger holds onto, or that comes in handy when you're wrestling the bike up onto its stand or lifting it into a truck bed. It mounts across the rear of the seat pan and shows up in the parts books under the panel and twinseat figures for that model year.

The old-book number for this one is F9498, which is the same part as the current 82-9498. If your parts book still shows the letter-prefix number, that's what you're looking at here.
We only see this listed for the 1969 season, so if you're restoring a bike from that year and the original rail is pitted, bent, or missing, this is the correct replacement to look for. Chrome finishes have changed over the decades due to environmental restrictions on the plating process, so don't expect a brand new one to look identical to a fifty-plus year old original.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
