CHAIN GUARD 500 TRI 1958-74
Unfinished rear chain guard for 350/500cc Triumph twins, shields the primary chain run on the swinging arm side.
This is the rear chain guard, 82-7707, that sits over the top of the primary chain run on the swinging arm side of the 350 and 500cc Triumph twins. It's the metal shield that keeps chain oil and road grit from flinging onto the rider's leg and the back of the bike, mounted along the top of the chainguard area shown in the swinging arm and suspension figures in the parts books.

It shows up in the catalog record across a run of years from 1958 into the mid-1970s, and it carries forward from an older factory number, 82-9753, so if your parts book lists that number for your machine, this is the same physical piece under the current part number. You'll also see it filed under the legacy alias CHAINGUARD 01 or F7707 in some older references.
This one comes unfinished, so plan on paint or plating before it goes on the bike. Given how long this shape stayed in production, double check it against what's currently mounted on your machine before you order, and give the shop a call if you're not sure which chainguard your bike left the factory with.
