Brake operating rod
Rear brake operating rod running from the brake pedal linkage to the rear brake arm.
This is the rear brake operating rod, the rod that runs from the brake pedal linkage back to the operating arm on the rear brake, carrying the pedal's push through to actually apply the brake. It shows up in the parts books under swinging arm/suspension fitting figures as well as engine unit fittings and footrests, which tells you it travels along the underside of the bike near the swingarm and rear brake assembly.

The current number is 82-7386, also cataloged as F7386, and it supersedes the earlier factory number 83-1925 - same physical part, just an older number if that's what's printed in your book. Catalog appearances run from 1967 into 1974.
If you're chasing a rattle or slop in the rear brake pedal action, or the rod itself is bent, rusted, or has a worn end, this is the part to check. Give us a call if you're not sure which rod your bike takes - the catalog record here doesn't spell out which specific model each entry covers, so we can help confirm before you order.
