Brake torque stay
A rear brake torque stay that anchors the brake backplate to the swinging arm so it can't rotate under braking.
This is a brake torque stay, listed in the catalog under 82-4201 with the older number F4201 also on file for the same part. It shows up in the swinging fork, suspension units, and chainguard section of the parts books, which places it out back at the rear wheel end of the bike rather than up front.

A torque stay is what keeps the rear brake backplate from rotating with the drum when the brake is applied. It anchors the backplate to the swinging arm or frame so the braking force gets transferred into the chassis instead of twisting the whole brake assembly around the axle.
Our catalog record ties this part to appearances spanning 1964 to 1966. Given how specific stay brackets tend to be to a particular swinging arm and brake plate combination, it is worth confirming fitment against your machine before ordering.
