SLEEVE PUSHROD TUBE 1979-ON
Pushrod tube sleeve ("wedding band") for 1979-on Triumph twins, seats at the cylinder block/head joint, PN 71-7196.
This is the pushrod tube sleeve, part number 71-7196, listed in the catalog as fitting bikes from 1979 on. It shows up in the cylinder block and head section of the parts book, and it's the little collar that seats around the pushrod tube where it meets the cylinder block or head. Riders and mechanics sometimes call these "wedding bands" because of their shape and how they sit on the tube.

These sleeves take the sealing load at the pushrod tube joint, so if you're getting oil weeping around the tubes on a top end that's otherwise sound, a tired or distorted sleeve is a reasonable place to start looking. The catalog shows this number appearing across appearances from 1980 into 1985, though the description itself says 1979-on for the change.
They're sold and used in pairs on a twin, one per pushrod tube. Given how cheap it is to have spares on hand, it's not a bad idea to pick up a couple whenever you're already in there doing head or barrel work.
