Crankcase undershield
Crankcase undershield for the 1971 TR6C, part number 71-2851 (also E12851), protecting the lower engine from debris.
This is the crankcase undershield listed under part number 71-2851, also found under the older E12851 form. It shows up in the parts book figure covering exhaust pipes, mufflers and folding footrests for the TR6C, which tells you this is a piece that lives down low on the frame near the exhaust and footrest area, protecting the underside of the engine from rocks and debris kicked up on rough ground.

The catalog only ties this one to the TR6C for the 1971 model year, so that's what we've got to go on. If you're fitting one to a different year or model, check the shield against your own machine before you commit, since mounting points and shield shape can change from one year to the next even within the same model line.
It's a simple plate, but on a bike set up for off-road or dual-purpose riding like the TR6C, having the underside of the crankcase covered is worth having in place if the original is missing or beat up.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
