BSA IDLER PINION BUSH A65
Idler pinion bush for the BSA A65 timing gear cluster, catalog PN 70-9809.
This is a bush for the idler pinion in the timing gear cluster on the BSA A65. The canonical description names the A65 directly, and it shows up across the camshaft and gear cluster figures as well as the inner timing cover and gearchange mechanism pages in the catalog, so it's a bottom-end timing-side piece, not anything to do with the gearbox mainshaft itself.

The idler pinion sits between the crankshaft pinion and the camshaft gears, and it needs a bush to run true on its shaft. If that bush wears loose you get slop in the timing gear train, which shows up as noise or erratic cam timing feel at the crank. This is a BSA A65 part, not a Triumph part, despite where it lives in our system.
Catalog appearances run 1969 to 1972 for this number. We don't have further detail on exact dimensions or fit tolerances in our records, so if you're rebuilding a timing chest, check your bush against the shaft and gear bore before you commit to installing it.
