SUMP PLUG 500 TRIUMPH LATE 16TPI 1969-On
placeholder
70-9501 is the sump plug for the 500cc unit twin, the drain plug at the bottom of the crankcase where the oil collects before it gets pumped back into the tank. This is the later 16TPI version, catalog-listed from 1969 on, so if you're working on an earlier 500 twin check your parts book carefully before ordering this one, as the plug thread was changed over at some point in the line.

You'll also see this part turn up under the old E9501 number if you're working from an older parts book. Same physical plug, just the legacy prefix form.
It's a simple part but it does an important job sealing the bottom of the crankcase, so make sure the threads on the plug match what's in your crankcase before you tighten it down. When in doubt, bring the old one in or call the shop with your frame and engine numbers and we'll help sort out which version you need.
