Push rod (exhaust)

An exhaust pushrod (70-8053, also listed as E8053) that transmits cam lift to the exhaust rocker.

PN · 70-8053

70-8053 is an exhaust pushrod, the rod that rides between the tappet and the exhaust rocker to carry lift from the camshaft up to the valve. It shows up in the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT and CYLINDER HEAD, BARREL AND CRANKSHAFT sections of the parts books, which is right where you'd expect a pushrod to be listed. The older book reference for this same part is E8053, so if you're working from an earlier parts list and see that number, it's the same physical piece.

Catalog appearances run from 1968 to 1971, but we don't have anything in our records pinning it to one specific model — a grounding line we came across ties this same part number to the TR25W as well, so it may show up across more than one machine in that era. Best to check it against your engine or call the shop before you order.

As with any pushrod, keep the exhaust and inlet rods sorted and don't mix them between sides when you pull the engine apart for inspection.
